Biography

Stefan Stoianovici is a versatile jazz pianist and a classical composer. With a background in both fields, he is currently undergoing his PhD studies in Classical Composition at the National University of Music Bucharest and Zurich University of The Arts, as well as being very active in the local jazz scene.

His concert works have been performed by renown conductors such as Cristian Macelaru and Cristian Mandeal, and he has written arrangements for the Radio Romania Big Band. Additionally, Stefan has collaborated with international artists and composers, participating in private workshops led by figures such as Francesco Filidei.

Within the domain of jazz, Stefan has worked as sideman for several projects and is also focusing on leading his own group, combining straight-ahead reprtoire with modern compositions. So far he has played at several notable international festivals and events.
